First of all, I’d like to apologise for being the most boring blogger/youtuber in the whole world the last month and a half. I’ve completely neglected my blog and channel and i feel awful for it! I’ve literally had no ideas what to post and been super busy in college and work.
Second of all…Happy St.David’s Day! Or Dydd Gwyl Dewi Hapus as we say in Wales!
St.David’s Day is our national day here in Wales and i thought as my blog name is ‘The Little Girl From Wales’, it would make sense to write a post about something Welsh related. I’m from North Wales. North Wales is the forgotten part of Wales and not many people know much about this part, or anywhere apart from Cardiff tbh (sorry Cardiff, I still love ya). I thought it would be fun to write about things to do and places to visit in North Wales.. this part of Wales is absolutely beautiful and i don’t think this area gets enough credit!
none of these are my photos, credits are in the captions 🙂
Portmeirion is a beautiful little village with an Italian vibe to it. The buildings are so pretty and the views are absolutely stunning! The village is located in Penrhyndeudraeth, Gwynedd. Portmeirion host weddings, festivals and all sorts. The location is also open to anyone and lovely food is available. Portmeirion is one of my favourite places and it’s definitely worth a visit!
Snowdon and Snowdonia National Park
Snowdon is the highest mountain in Wales at an elevation of 1,085 metres (3,560 ft) above sea level! Snowdonia is the National park in my area. It is a “mountainous region in north Wales and a national park of 823 square miles (2,130 km2) in area” – Wikipedia. The area is absolutely beautiful.
Wales is known for its old castles and interesting history. The main castles in North Wales are Caernarfon, Conwy, Beaumaris, Dolwyddelan and Dolbadarn. Our castles are definitely worth going to visit as the stories behind the castles are so interesting and they are all located in beautiful, scenic places.
We have so many gorgeous beaches in North Wales. My favourites have to be Rhosneigr and Abersoch especially at the height of summer!
you may have seen Zip world on Facebook videos gone viral and celebrities visiting. If not, this is a zip wire, simple! But what makes this zipwore different is, its the longest one in Europe! The views are pretty impressive! Zip world is located in Bethesda. Zip world also has another location in Blaenau Ffestiniog called Zip world Titan where many there are a number of zip lines and an underground bounce nets!
surf snowdonia was built to teach people to surf. Many people from this area love surfing, but most of the time, the weather is rather crappy and not ideal to surf. This place has artificial waves, perfect to surf on! This is in the Conwy area.
Aberfalls is located in the Llanfairfechan area. I absolutely love this place especially the long walk up to the waterfall! The place is beautiful and it feels great to sit down on the big rocks and listen to the waterfall!
On the northwest coast of Anglesey, southstack is an island and has an impressive lighthouse and I absolutely love visiting this place! It’s a great place to go walking and the views are absolutely stunning!
There are so many more great places in North Wales! These are only some of my favourite places/the most popular places! I hope you liked this post and maybe even visit some of these places one day! I’d love to know if you’ve visited one of these places before or been somewhere else in (north) wales!
